Corporate Social Responsibility

At Savage X Fenty, we have our eyes set on the future.

Responsible manufacturing and ethical design and sourcing are a big part of the work we are doing to accelerate our progress towards creating products that are responsibly made. We also recognize the importance of doing our part in reducing waste and investing in the circular economy to minimize the environmental impact of our products each year.

We are CarbonNeutral®

Since 2021, Savage X Fenty has been certified a CarbonNeutral® company in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol, the clear, credible and transparent framework for carbon neutral programs.

To achieve CarbonNeutral® certification, we've been working with Climate Impact Partners, a specialist in carbon market solutions for climate action, and had an independent assessment of the greenhouse gas emissions produced across our operations, including Scope 1, Scope 2 and select Scope 3 emission sources. In addition to reducing emissions across our offices, fulfillment centers, supply chain and retail stores, our emissions have been offset through the purchase of high-quality carbon credits.

As part of our offsetting program, we are supporting projects around the world that deliver emissions reductions, along with other benefits to the local community. For example, we have provided support to a project that is working to reforest degraded farmlands in Northern and Southern Guatemala. In addition to removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, the project has restored degraded land, increased the total share of forested area in the region and created over 300 jobs in the process. We also supported a project that is working to protect and restore peatland ecosystems in Indonesia, building sustainable sources of income and delivering health and education programs for the local community.

Responsible Manufacturing

Since inception, Savage X Fenty has been committed to upholding fair working conditions, environmental protection and human rights throughout our supply chain. To ensure that our partners operate responsibly, Savage X Fenty has developed an Ethical Sourcing Code and Human Rights Policy, based on the Ethical Trading Initiative's base code and the Core Labor Conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), including the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the Ethical Trading Initiative’s base code.

Through regular monitoring, announced and unannounced factory audits and dedicated in-house social compliance teams, we are able to track our partners' activities, practices and workplace standards to confirm compliance with our Ethical Sourcing Code and Human Rights Policy. We take our responsibility seriously and will continue to meet or exceed industry best practices to ensure that our partners meet our supply chain standards at all times.

Ethical Design & Sourcing

We strive to balance fashion, quality and lifespan in the products we design.

Going beyond the aesthetics and usability of our products, our designers play a crucial role in considering the ethical implications of the products we craft. Our designers developed franchises incorporating recycled materials, including recycled nylon, with plans to continue that discipline as we develop into new ranges.

We’ve also designed our trim package, hangtags, labels and polybags in 2020 to be made from recycled materials and employ print methods using as little water consumption as possible. Additionally, we've successfully removed plastic within our tagging process in 2020 to create less waste. We've recently expanded our use of recycled elastics and recycled yarns across multiple product categories in 2023 and 2024.

Waste Reduction & Circular Economy

Product Packaging & Display: In 2020, we switched to recycled polybags made with pre-consumer recycled materials, digitized our packing slips, and removed plastic on our hangtags to help reduce waste. In 2021, we significantly reduced the use of tissue balls when packing bras. With a conscious commitment to increasing our sustainability efforts, in 2022, with the opening of our first Savage X Fenty retail store, we launched reusable shopping bags made from recycled materials, chose hangers made from wheat straw, and shifted to recycled tissue paper and recycled woven labels across all our product categories.

Product Recycling & Donation: One of the ways in which we give back to our local communities is by recycling and donating products. Our Savage X Fenty retail stores and fulfillment centers coordinate pick-ups and drop-offs of returned and unsold products to give them a second life. Since 2018, we have donated over 250K products to local communities through partners like Good360 and The Bra Recyclers. We are continually improving our forecasting functions to become more accurate and help reduce waste from excess inventory.
